Amethyst

It derives from ancient Greek word “AMETHUSTOS” meaning “intoxicate” , a reference to the belief the the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. In Greek mythology, Amethyst was rock crystal dyed purple by tears of Dionysus, the god of wine and revelry.

Amethyst was known as a gem that would bring forth the highest, purest aspirations of human kind and would guard against the anger of passion, and the violent nature of its wearer.
