TOPAZ

Topaz gets its name from the greek word Topazion, derived from sanskrit word “tapas” meaning “fire”. Alternatively, a theory suggests the origin of the name relates to egyptian island of topazos in the red sea.
In 1740, the “Braganza” diamond (1640 carats) was found in brazil. After that, it was set in the Portugese crown.
It was thought to be the largest diamond ever found but now considered to be a giant colourless topaz.
